01

What is actually covered?

List the systems and data your business relies on. Ask which computers, servers, mailboxes, and shared workspaces are included, and which are outside the current service.

02

Who notices when a job fails?

Find out who reviews backup results, how a failure is escalated, and how a resolved issue is recorded.

03

How far back can we go?

Ask about retention and the recovery points available. Different systems and services may keep different histories.

04

When did we last test a restore?

Ask what was restored, whether it could be opened or used, and what the test did not cover. A successful sample does not prove every system can recover.

05

What must come back first?

Put critical business activities in order. Discuss the systems, people, access, and connectivity needed to resume them.
